Alane A. Becket is a managing partner at the Malvern, Pa. law firm of Becket & Lee LLP, where she specializes in the representation of creditors in bankruptcy matters, primarily consumer lenders and debt purchasers. Becket & Lee is a Women’s Business Enterprise, as certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. In addition to the American Bankruptcy Institute, Ms. Becket is a member of the Conferences of Chapter 13 Trustees, Bankruptcy Trustees, ACA International, DBA International, and Retail Collection Attorneys. A member of the ABI Board of Directors, she has served as Co-Chair of the ABI’s Consumer Bankruptcy Committee, contributing editor for the ABI Journal’s Consumer Corner and Last in Line columns, editor of ABI’s Consumer Committee’s electronic newsletter and as an advisor to the Consumer Education Center on ABIWorld. She has written and lectured extensively on consumer collection and bankruptcy practices, and most recently, co-authored an updated version of Consumer Bankruptcy: Fundamentals of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, Third Edition, published by the ABI. Ms. Becket graduated from Pennsylvania State University and received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law.
